Healthspan – Controversial Thoughts On How to Live And Die Well

Naturally Good Summit

The rest of the world has long considered Australia a clean and green country with her people some of the healthiest and happiest in the world. And it’s true we match or outperform many of our OECD cousins in measures of health, including life expectancy. But chronic diseases are our leading cause of death and growing. They account for 9 out of every 10 preventable deaths and for 85 percent of lost years. It sounds grim, but the inspirational truth is the power to course correct is in our hands.

Nathan Cheong is the CEO of Melrose Group with a 20-year career spanning naturopathy and medical herbalism and leadership roles with Vita Life Sciences, Blackmores BioCeuticals, Designs for Health and LifeSpace Group. He’ll unpack the current health crisis and how we’ve come to this; major causes of mortality; and how we can make the right decisions today to live with the greatest vitality and die in the best health possible.

Nathan shares his very personal journey towards greater wellbeing, why we need to reframe our thinking from “lifespan” to “healthspan”, and tangible solutions that have changed his approach to living. Gain insight into what that means for how he runs Melrose Group, from its approach to product development to workplace culture. And learn his key takeaways for designing products that respond meaningfully to the epidemic of poor health outcomes that affect us all.
