Hayley Fraser-Mackenzie

Pacific Harvest

Hayley Fraser-Mackenzie is the Managing Director of Pacific Harvest, a New Zealand-owned & run business that supplies a variety of high quality
edible seaweed products. Originally from land-locked Zimbabwe, Hayley’s
grand-parents & parents worked the land – as farmers or in horticulture. Following in her families’ footsteps, Hayley gravitated towards working with plants. That is, plants of the sea.

After completing her University studies in Cape Town, Hayley headed off to the bright lights of London, where she worked in leading corporate Media companies throughout her twenties & early thirties, gaining invaluable experience in senior commercial & global marketing roles. With a young
family in tow, Hayley & her husband left the UK for New Zealand in 2006, & have been proud to call New Zealand home for the last 15 years. Transitioning to the SME, not-for-profit & start-up world, Hayley wasparticularly inspired by her role at New Zealand's Trade Development Agency, working to help exporters grow bigger, better & faster for the good of New Zealand. With a genuine passion for natural, authentic products, Hayley thrives in environments of high change & growth. When she came across Pacific Harvest late in 2019, the opportunity was too exciting to let pass. Hayley & her husband bought the business which they refer to as a ’20 year old start up’. In the last two years they have refreshed the branding &
introduced new products to really establish Pacific Harvest as the seaweed category leader in Australasia. The more she learns about seaweed’s potential to nourish & restore people & the planet, Hayley becomes more inspired by, & passionate about, the underwater world. As a mother of three teenagers, when Hayley’s not working (or talking seaweed), you will find her
with her family, gardening, walking the coastal paths near her home, involved in her local community, reading or planning holidays.
