At Diversified we understand that being a responsible and sustainable business is essential, and our actions and decisions have a significant impact on the world around us. That’s why we have committed to working with our visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders to consider the impact our industry has on the environment and society we work in. We are striving to operate with environment and social responsibility and our goal is to create a better future for our customers, ourselves and future generations.
While there are big challenges ahead of us, we understand that little steps can go a long way and every change can make a difference. Our sustainability journey includes initiatives across our events and the wider business, so please explore our efforts and see how we are making a positive impact.
Minimising our environmental impact
We aim to reduce the number of printed signs and use digital signage where available
We aim to reuse or recycle all printed signage at the event
We are using lanyards made out of recycled bottles and food packaging. And we will recycle the lanyards at the completion of the event
Our event registration badges are printed on recycled material and will be recycled post event
Water filling stations are available at our events and we encourage all attendees to bring reusable drinking bottles
We encourage our Exhibitors to exhibit sustainably. More information can be found here
During move out exhibitors will be provided opportunities to dispose of exhibition and stand materials via four different waste streams, further diverting waste from landfill
All carpet, furniture and AV equipment provided by the organiser is hired and will be reused across multiple events before being disposed responsibly
Reducing our carbon footprint
We will turn off all electricity overnight
We will have separate waste bins, to encourage visitors to use appropriate bins for waste disposal
We will work with the ICC to try and achieve a target of at least 75% of operational waste diverted from landfill
All coffee cups are collected and composted
All food waste and coffee grounds will be composted
63% of toilet flushing demands come from harvested rainwater collected from the exhibition roof
Where possible food has been sourced using local food producers
Supporting our local communities
ICC Sydney operates on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present and future
We partner with Oz Harvest to ensure any leftover food products are utilised at food shelters
